This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors to verdictgoods.com and from our customers, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have.   • Phone number, if you choose to receive text messages.
  • Name and pickup details, when you place an order.
  • The content of messages you send us by email, text, or web form.
  • Payment information is collected and processed directly by Shopify Payments and its payment processors. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit verdictgoods.com, we and our analytics and advertising providers automatically collect:

  • IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, and operating system.
  • Pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and the dates and times of visits.

This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 5.

2.3 Information from third parties

  • Advertising and analytics partners, such as Google and Meta, may share limited engagement data, for example whether you clicked one of our ads.
  • Our email and SMS platform, Klaviyo, provides engagement data such as message opens and clicks.

  • Send you messages you have asked to receive, such as drop announcements.

6. Text messaging (SMS)

  • You will receive recurring messages, such as drop announcements and, where applicable, customer-service messages about your order.
  • Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.
  • Message frequency varies, up to 4 messages per month for marketing.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
  • We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or your text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. We share this information only with the messaging service provider that helps us deliver our texts, and only for that purpose.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

7. Your rights and choices

7.1 Everyone

You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any email, and from SMS by replying STOP. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing privacy@verdictgoods.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.

7.2 California residents (CCPA and CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise your rights, email privacy@verdictgoods.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

7.3 Illinois residents

We comply with the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), including its breach-notification requirements. We do not collect, store, or use biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).

7.4 EU and UK residents

Our products are sold for pickup in Chicago, and we do not target or knowingly serve customers in the EU or UK. If this changes, we will update this policy to address rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR.

8. Children's privacy

Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@verdictgoods.com and we will delete it.

9. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. Payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers, and we do not store full card numbers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Order and transaction records: 7 years, for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Marketing contact information: until you unsubscribe, or after 24 months of inactivity, whichever comes first.
  • Website analytics: per our providers' default retention periods.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice as required by law.
